Author’s Note:
Once again, it has been a moment since the last update. After a busy week and reporting season news, we have not had the opportunity to provide a daily update as per usual. Instead, an overview of the week that was, hopefully, fills the gap.
In terms of portfolio changes, there have been none. This is not for lack of trying, more lack of internet access over the week. What a time to not have Wi-Fi!

Themes of the Week:
Banking Sell-Off: A hawkish hold from the RBA continued to ripple through rate sensitive sectors. CBA led the retreat across the majors on valuation concerns and soft mortgage growth updates. This triggered institutional profit taking.
Resources: Gold equities extended their run as spot gold pushed past $4,300/oz before experiencing a brief pullback on Friday. BHP and Rio struggled under dividend reductions, ex-dividend headwinds, and sluggish Chinese industrial demand.
Earnings Season: Small and mid-cap reporting exhibited large dispersions between the best and the worst. Companies that delivered beats with a clear margin expansion were rewarded, while even minor downgrades or top line misses triggered double digit sell-offs.
